Carlo Ancelotti has once again justified his reason to keep benching Real Madrid's highest-paid player ahead of their match against Barcelona in El Clasico.
Eden Hazard has endured a nightmare spell in his career over the last two years.
The 32-year-old Belgian has found game time hard to come by at Real Madrid following a lengthy spell of injuries and inconsistencies with form.
However, his hopes of succeeding at the Santiago Bernabeu could has been dealt a fresh blow after coach Carlo Ancelotti’s recent comments.
The former Belgium skipper had recently opened up in an explosive interview about his frosty relationship with Los Blancos coach, having found game time hard to come by.
Ancelotti in return, confirmed Hazard’s revelation but insisted that there is still respect between him and the player.
The 63-year-old has once again re-iterated his earlier stance on Hazard’s playing time while insisting Real Madrid’s highest-paid player will not be afforded any special treatment.
‘I’m here to win games’
When questioned on why Eden Hazard not getting enough minutes, he told Eleven Belgium: "Hazard? I'm not here to give each player minutes, I'm here to win games.’
“I don't look at how much a player earns or how old he is. I put together a team to win games, nothing more."
The defending champions will look to test the title credentials of league leaders and arch-rivals Barcelona when they travel to the Spotify Camp Nou for the 186th edition of El Clasico in LaLiga.
