Mourinho’s previous address

Mourinho has a cordial relationship with his compatriot and they were together at Real Madrid, winning LALIGA and Copa Del Rey.

Last time out, Mourinho stressed that he still has a great relationship with the former Manchester United man, and only friendly visits or tourism would bring him to Turkey, rather than a Fenerbahce transfer.

However, his comments at the time did nothing to douse the rumours, as he has had to address the issue again.

What Mourinho said

Ahead of their league defeat against Besiktas, the 61-year-old was asked about the prospects of signing Ronaldo. He immediately shut it down, saying it was not even a signing he desired, as he is happy with the offensive quality at his disposal.

"Cristiano Ronaldo will not come to Fenerbahce. I've three good strikers and I don’t need another one,” Mourinho said.

"Cristiano will always be Cristiano, but I don't want him because I'm satisfied with my strikers."

Indeed, the Black Canaries have three quality point men: Youssef En-Nesyri, Cenk Tosun and the veteran Eden Dzeko. They currently sit second in the Turkish Super Lig table.
