Nigerian rapper ODUMODUBLVCK has settled the GOAT debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo while also comparing himself to the Argentine superstar
Nigerian rap sensation ODUMODUBLVCK has weighed in on the football GOAT debate between Argentine Lionel Messi and his Portuguese adversary Cristiano Ronaldo.
Odumodu declared Messi as his favourite of the much-compared duo while also claiming the Argentine as his source of inspiration due to similarities in their success stories.
The rapper made the statement in a radio interview with BBC 1xtra in which he stated categorically where his allegiances lie, "Messi or Ronaldo? Messi. King of football."

"Cleared everybody’s doubts and he won the World Cup after losing four or five finals with Argentina, that’s a symbol of hope, a symbol of determination. Don’t give up," Odumodu continued, giving his reasons for selecting Messi.

Odumodu also gave more context on why he relates more to Messi, drawing some similarities between their totally different career paths.
"I’m 30 years old, a lot of artists blow up when they’re 20, 21, I know how far I’ve come to get here, it took me seven years to get to this point so when I look at Messi I draw inspiration and that’s why he’s the greatest," he said.

He wrapped up the conversation with some props for Cristiano Ronaldo though, giving the Portuguese legend his due respect as one of the greats as well.
"Shoutout Ronaldo too cos hard work, Ronaldo is that guy too and there’s no problem if someone is better than you at something, that’s my message to Ronaldo."
