The 20-year-old Ghanaian forward will not play again this season for his club due to an ACL injury.
Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a serious knee injury, as confirmed by manager Steve Cooper.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while playing for his national team in a recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.

This setback is particularly impactful for Fatawu, who had started to establish himself within the squad after making a permanent move from Sporting Lisbon following an impressive season last year, where he ditched Ghana to help Leicester secure promotion from the Championship.
His manager Cooper expressed his disappointment over the injury, stating in a club statement, "It’s not good, it’s a serious injury. He’s had an ACL injury which is going to rule him out for the rest of the season. It’s a real blow, first and foremost for him.
"He’s a young player and having an ACL injury can be quite common, it’s part of football, but it’s still a serious injury.”
Fatawu had featured in all 11 league matches for Leicester this season, with two assists to his name. His speed and skill made him a valuable asset on the wing, and his absence will be felt as Leicester aim to improve their current standing in the Premier League, where they sit in 15th place with 10 points.
Cooper emphasised the importance of supporting Fatawu during his rehabilitation, adding, "For it to happen at a young age is a blow for him and a blow for us."
He remains hopeful that Fatawu will return stronger after this challenging period.
In addition to Fatawu's injury, Cooper noted that his compatriot Jordan Ayew also returned from international duty with an injury, although it is not considered severe.
Ayew unlike his national teammate may be available for Leicester's upcoming match against Chelsea this Saturday.
