One of the greatest players of all time reveals when he plans on calling it quits after over two decades of playing football.

Al-Nassr has reportedly initiated talks with Cristiano Ronaldo to extend his contract beyond its current expiration date in June 2025.

The 39-year-old Portuguese superstar joined the Saudi Arabian club on a free transfer in January 2023 after leaving Manchester United, and since his arrival, Ronaldo has been a prolific goalscorer, contributing 64 goals and 17 assists in 71 matches for Al Nassr.

However, in the midst of the contract renewal talks, Ronaldo has dropped hints of this being potentially his last club deal, as he plans on leaving the game soon.

The prolific forward, who was presented with the ‘Greatest of All Time’ special jersey by Al-Nassr, reiterated that he is happy at his club despite having just one year left on his current contract.

"I'm very happy at this club; I feel good in this country too. I'm happy to play in Saudi Arabia, and I want to continue, he said.

He also took time to touch on the topic of when he will leave the beautiful game.

"I don't know if I will retire soon, in two or three years... but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr," Ronaldo told NOW.

No plans of coaching

Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about his plans to retire at Al Nassr..

Unlike many other footballers, Ronaldo does not think he will like to take on the pressure of leading a team after retiring.

“At the moment, I'm not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team,” he said.

"It doesn't even cross my mind; I've never thought about it. I don't see my future going through that. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds."

Ronaldo’s impressive form has continued into the current season, with six goals and two assists in seven appearances.

The Portuguese star is the first individual to surpass one billion followers worldwide, and his retirement day would be widely celebrated by many.
