Super Eagles duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were the heroes as Leicester City beat Stoke City to keep their spot at the top of the Championship table. 

Leicester City enjoy Nigerian influence

Iheanacho scored the opening goal for Leicester City, while Jamie Vardy scored the second as the Foxes overcame Stoke City 2-0 at the King Power Stadium. 

The Nigerian forward was on hand to score from Ricardo Perreira's cross in the first half, with a brilliant finish from the edge of the area, to take his goal tally for the season to four.

Iheanacho was not the only Super Eagles star to shine against Stoke City; compatriot Wilfred Ndidi also had an impact off the bench in Leicester City’s win. 

Ndidi and Iheanacho help Leicester maintain superb start

Although Ndidi did not start against Stoke City, he replaced Chelsea loanee Cesare Casadei and provided an assist for fellow substitute Vardy, who put the cherry on top of the victory. 

The win was Leicester’s sixth EFL Championship win in a row, and their 10th win in 11 league matches this season.

The Foxes are on course for the Championship title and a place back in the Premier League after an incredible start to the season under new manager Enzo Maresca, which has seen them record the best start in EFL Championship history.
