UCL: How lucky Real Madrid stole the Champions League from Dortmund’s hands
Edin Terzic’s men left Wembley wondering how they lost, which is pretty much the norm for Los Blancos’ opponents in Europe’s premier club competition.
What Rodrygo said
Following the UCL triumph against Borussia Dortmund, in which Rodrygo featured from the start and played until the 90th minute, when he was substituted for Militao in injury time, the Brazil international was quizzed about the reports linking him with a move to Manchester City.
The Santos academy graduate immediately dismissed the reports, saying he was not aware of them. He also included that if there were indeed interest and offers for him, he would not be considering them, as he had no interest in leaving Real Madrid.
“This week some media said about bids, clubs, interest... I don’t know anything about it and I’m NOT interested,” he said about the Man City links, per Fabrizio Romano.
“Even if there are proposals, I have no idea about that... I’m staying. I’m happy here. How can I leave Real Madrid?!”
This statement comes days after Rodrygo had to send a message out on social media when multiple reports misconstrued an interview he had weeks ago as him desiring an exit from Real Madrid.
"A very annoying situation occurred today, where one of my interviews was completely taken out of context.”
“To be very direct, I am VERY happy at Real Madrid. I live a dream every day and it does NOT cross my mind to leave the club of my life! Now we continue with history to make. By 15. HALA MADRID AND NOTHING MORE!"
Rodrygo played 51 games for Real Madrid this recently concluded season, scoring 17 goals and 9 assists; however, his game time is expected to take a hit with the impending arrival of Kylian Mbappe, but the Brazilian is not fazed and remains committed to representing the LALIGA champions.
