Complaints had earlier been raised by visiting teams over the quality of the playing surfaces in Umuahia and Ibadan.
Two Nigeria Premier Football League clubs Abia Warriors and Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have been granted provisional permission to continue to use their home stadiums in Umuahia, and Ibadan, respectively.
With the season slowly approaching its seventh week of play, the IMC addressed several decisions, including those on fixture modifications, stadium bans, and even responses to appeals by teams that have previously received sanctions.
Abia Warriors, Shooting Stars and Nasarawa United were three teams of six teams mentioned in the issue of home stadiums.
Umuahia Stadium, Lekan Salami to undergo review in mid season
Complaints had earlier been raised by visiting teams over the quality of the playing surface at the Umuahia Township Stadium, however, the Interim Management Company vetoed in favour of Abia Warriors, playing on their home turf until the end of the first half of the season being, Week 9.
The Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, the home ground of Shooting Stars, was also granted provisional approval.
In a memo to the Ibadan-based club, IMC said: “The present condition of the playing turf at the Lekan Salami Stadium, is not television-friendly and falls short of acceptable standards.
"You are therefore directed to take immediate steps to improve the condition of the playing pitch before the end of the first half of the season (Week 9)”.
According to the IMC, both grounds would be evaluated again, midway into the season, to decide if they meet the club Licensing Infrastructure requirement.
Both Abia Warriors and 3SC could see their home games moved to alternate grounds before the start of the second stanza, should they fail to comply to improve their playing surfaces.
Nasarawa United to return to Jos
Meanwhile, Nasarawa United got approval to return to the New Jos Township Stadium for their remaining fixtures of the season with a warning that further requests for venue change will not be entertained.
After having played in Jos from the beginning of the season until week 4, Nasarawa United were granted provisional approval to move their home games to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, pending the completion of renovations at their home stadium in Lafia.
However, a U-Turn by the team will now see them continue to use the New Jos Stadium as their temporary home ground. Nasarawa will thus host Kwara United in Jos for the Week 7 game this weekend.
