Coach Alex Isabirye broke into tears as his BUL FC side matched FUFA's order to replay their Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 tie with a similar result to the first game played over a fortnight ago.
BUL won the match 1-0 courtesy of an early second half goal through Ibrahim Nsiimbe who rushed to loop from a long clearance inside 30 seconds of the second half.
Isabirye refused to talk to the media after the game as he proposed his now-former assistant coach Simeone Masaba signalling the end of his second tenure at BUL.
The coach then moved on and summoned the team in their traditional end of match circle in the middle of the pitch before confirming Pulse Sports story that he was leaving for Vipers SC.
"I don't know where to start," Isabirye broke down into tears again as he gathered strength to confirm the new developments to a team that he has affectionately described as a family for the last two or so years.
"I'm moving in body but will be with you in spirit. Whatever I have achieved here is because we all did it," the coach took another break as he stared at the wet eyes giving him audience.
"You are a great team, from the managers up there, the chairman, and everyone associated with the club," Isabirye added.
His speech was briefly interrupted by several fans who came and fell to his feet in tears with differing voices.
Others wanted him to stay while the rest prayed for the "son of the soil" to go and make them proud.
