Former Vipers Sports Club head coach Alex Isabirye has revealed his next move after resigning from his role with the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title holders.

While speaking in a call-in interview on 87.7 Busoga FM, Isabirye, a son of the soil, revealed that he is taking a break from technical duties.

“I am taking a break; I may come and work with Busoga United for free just to keep my working permit active,” Isabirye added.

He warned local coaches to exercise caution while taking up offers, noting that success, too, can become a problem.

“I encourage my fellow coaches to select their workplaces carefully. Be very careful in what you do because success, too, can become a problem.”

The back-to-back Stanbic Uganda Cup-winning coach knows that while success has been his drive for work, different clubs have different ambitions.

“I remember there was a team I was coaching, and it progressed to the semi-finals in the Stanbic Uganda Cup, but its owner said he had no money to finance the team in case it progressed to another level.’

“We had to find ways of being eliminated. Imagine if I had won nothing at Vipers!” he added.

Vipers SC are reportedly considering replacing Isabirye with ex-TP Mazembe coach Frank Dumas. A Brazilian is also understood to be in the race for the job.
