Vipers SC have already crashed out of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League but will have one last dance; against Horoya AC on Friday in Bamako, Mali.
Venoms' head coach Alex Isabirye is not taking the game for granted, and their entire focus is on picking what will be their first-ever victory at this stage in the competition.
"We are ready for this game, prepared well and shall do everything to make sure we go back home with a good result," head coach Alex Isabirye told the media.
The tactician wants the team to get familiar with playing well and grinding results if they are to return to the continent.
"The players are good, and they now know what it means to be back playing in the champions league next year."
"It starts now; we have to win game by game," the former BUL FC coach added. "From that, we can return home with the winning momentum."
Both sides have already bowed out of the competition; Isabirye's charges are placed fourth with two points, two adrift of third-placed Horoya.
Meanwhile, Raja Casablanca and Simba SC, who are placed first and second with 13 and nine points respectively, have already made the knockout round.
Vipers and Horoya shared the spoils earlier this year at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende, a 0-0 draw that brought the former's first ever point in the group stages.
Isabirye will however have to do without a number of stars including Livingstone Mulondo and Siraje Ssentamu who returned late from their engagements with the Uganda Cranes.
Goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora, who was with Burundi for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, is also out of the Friday tie.
Star forward Yunus Sentamu is also out with an injury layoff, just like Marvin Joseph Youngman and defender Murushid Juuko.
Karim Ndugwa won't play as he is cap-tied, having played in the CAF Confederation Cup with BUL, before later switching allegiance.
