The Italian tactician has a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal, with the recent addition of Kylian Mbappe adding even more firepower to an already formidable frontline.
However, Ancelotti has warned that finding the right balance between attack and defence will be crucial for Real Madrid's success this season.
The retirement of Toni Kroos has further complicated matters, leaving the Italian to ponder how to best harness the attacking prowess of players like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham, and now Mbappe without compromising the team's defensive solidity.
“It is always difficult to put together a line-up because you end up leaving out those who deserve to play,” said Ancelotti. “It is a problem, having so many talented players! The key this season will be finding the right defensive balance.
“In attack, it will be tough to understand how we’ll be set out because a lot depends on the creativity of the players at our disposal.”
Will Mbappe start against Atalanta?
While Ancelotti is excited about the prospect of integrating Mbappe into the team, he acknowledges the limited time they have had to work together, with the Frenchman joining the group’s pre-season on August 7.
Despite this, the French superstar is expected to make his Los Blancos debut in the Super Cup.

Ademola Lookman ready to take down Mbappe, Real Madrid in UEFA Super Cup
Europa League defending champions Atalanta will take on Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup this week in Warsaw.
“Mbappe arrived on August 7, so we haven’t had much time to work, but he is in good shape and adapted very well. He could play from the start tomorrow,” continued Ancelotti.
“He is motivated, fired up and has incredible quality. From what I have seen so far, there is a very healthy locker room atmosphere. There are no princes or kings in this team, they are players who know how to put their qualities at the disposal of the group.”
What comes next?
