Former Super Eagles and Borussia Dortmund forward, Victor Ikpeba Nosa, has thrown his weight behind his ex-teammate, Finidi George, to take over the reins as Nigeria’s permanent coach.
George, currently the head coach of Enyimba FC, was the assistant to Jose Peseiro during the AFCON 2023 tournament in Ivory Coast.
With Peseiro's contract now expired, George stepped in as the interim coach for Nigeria’s recent friendly games during the March International break.

Ikpeba’s support
Finidi has impressed his former teammate Victor Ikpeba following his performance against Ghana and Mail during the international friendly.
Speaking on the SuperSports’ Monday Night Football show, as reported by Soccernet, Ikpeba expressed his pride in George's work, stating, "I am happy with what Finidi is doing with the Super Eagles. I am in the system and I know what he’s doing."
"I am not the decision-maker, I am one of the people who will advise the NFF, but it’s looking good for Finidi," Ikpeba added.
Ikpeba also highlighted the positive feedback from players, noting, "From what I have seen from the players’ comments, it’s looking good for Finidi George."
