Marco Silva was disappointed after his Fulham side were eliminated by Crystal Palace in the quarter-final.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva has expressed his frustration with his team and officials after the Cottagers’ 3-0 FA Cup quarter-final loss to Crystal Palace

The West London outfit dominated the opening exchanges but could not exploit their dominance against Olivier Glasner’s men.

An Eberechi Eze stunner four minutes after the half-hour mark and Ismaila Sarr's strike four minutes later stunned the hosts, who had the upper hand before both strikes.

Eddie Nketiah’s 75th-minute strike added gloss to the final score as Calvin Bassey played the former Arsenal striker forward onside.

What Silva said after Fulham’s FA Cup exit

A tetchy Silva was displeased by his side’s inability to score before Eze did after 34 minutes, suggesting that the Englishman’s incredible strike changed the game.

"One game until 25 minutes of the match, we completely dominated and we had three or four dangerous moments around their goal,” said the Fulham boss.

“We should have scored in those moments. You need to be ruthless and clinical. They are solid and compact.

“They set nine players around their box every single time and when we are able to create, we have to score. We didn't and we were not strong in both ends this afternoon.”

Furthermore, the Fulham boss seemingly criticised the officials for missing a possible second yellow for Palace midfielder Adam Wharton in the opening 45 minutes.

"For me it is clear, it's a second yellow card but we are used to these kind of situations,” said Silva about Wharton staying on the pitch. “I prefer to say we are unlucky but it has been a long story with us.

“Of course, VAR cannot overturn this decision, but you have many eyes inside the pitch, the linesman has all the angles to see it, the fourth official.

“It is a clear second yellow card, definitely. It would have a massive impact on the game but against us it is always more difficult to see. We have been unlucky in these type of situations and let's hope it will be balanced at the end of the season."

What next for Fulham?

Fulham, eighth in the Premier League table, return to top-flight action on April 1 against Arsenal, aiming to enhance their outside chance for a top-five finish.

The Cottagers trail rivals Chelsea by four points, sitting in fourth place, and are three points behind fifth-placed Manchester City.
