The Senegalese striker was the best player on the pitch as Chelsea wrapped up a convincing win over West Ham

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson was the star of the show as the Blues hammered West Ham in a dominant 3-0 away win.

Jackson got on the scoresheet twice and assisted Chelsea's third goal for Cole Palmer as the Blues moved into second place on the Premier League table.

West Ham were unable to put up a reasonable defence at home and were at the mercy of the Blues, losing their third match of the season after only five matches.

How it happened

Chelsea started the match firmly in the driver’s seat and struck early, with Jackson scoring within four minutes after West Ham’s defence was caught off guard by a quick free-kick.

Jackson doubled his tally before halftime, expertly finishing off a Moisés Caicedo through ball, while VAR dismissed West Ham’s penalty appeal for a foul on Crysencio Summerville.

VAR denied West Ham again when Mohammed Kudus also had a goal disallowed for offside, further frustrating the hosts.

Chelsea's strong start continued in the second half as Jackson assisted Palmer, who finished emphatically off the post, putting the Blues 3-0 ahead.

The win moves Chelsea into second place in the Premier League ahead of Arsenal, who play leaders Manchester City this game week.

Hosts West Ham endured their worst-ever start to a season, losing three of their first five matches for the first time in Premier League history.
