Harambee Stars: Why Engin Firat is not underestimating Zimbabwe in AFCON 2025 qualifiers
Kenya have been placed in group J of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers alongside Zimbabwe, Cameroon and Namibia, but Firat has explained why The Warriors in particular will be tricky opponents.
“Playing in the playoffs does not post a good image, but we do thank God we won and it gives us a good position for the second legs.”
Onyango, who has been linked with a potential move to FKF Cup holders Kenya Police, revealed his personal targets and future aspirations. “I have finished the season with eight goals. It is not bad but I am really looking forward to better moments in this league,” he shared.
Onyango first gained prominence during the 2018 Africa Copa Coca Cola U16 Championship in Nakuru, where he was the top scorer with six goals, leading his team to the African title.
He continued his impressive form by winning the U19 national title in 2019 with St Anthony’s Boys, defeating Dagoretti High School in Kisumu before the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Known for his aerial prowess, speed, and strong shots, Onyango’s physical strength makes him a formidable challenge for defenders.
As Onyango looks ahead to the second leg and beyond, his determination and talent promise a bright future both for himself and for Sofapaka as they strive to secure their place in the league.
