South African Premier League side Richards Bay has announced the sudden death of their defender-cum-defensive midfielder Mtolo ‘Spepe’ Siphamandla.
The club announced that the unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday morning during their routine training session.
“It is with deep sadness to announce that Richards Bay Football Club has untimely lost one of the midfielders, Siphamandla ‘Spepe’ Mtolo who collapsed today [Tuesday] during training,” the club announced without divulging the cause of death as they allow the family their privacy in these difficult times.
“His presence both on and off the pitch will be sorely missed. Thoughts and prayers of Everyone in Richards Bay are with his family, friends and loved ones. A further statement will follow in due course,” the message adds.
