Jay Jay Okocha overwhelmed by love from ex-Super Eagles mates, friends on 50th birthday

Nigeria Super Eagles legend Austine Jay Jay Okocha is 50 today and is former teammates and friends came together to honour him in style.

Legendary Super Eagles skipper Austine Jay Jay Okocha is in a happy and grateful state of mind after an elaborate event to celebrate his birthday.

Okocha turns 50 on Monday but was overwhelmed during a novelty match put together by BetKing to honour the African icon.

It was a gathering of stars with Pulse Sports in attendance as BetKing and former football stars to celebrate the Nigeria Super Eagles legend at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on Sunday.

As reported by Pulse Sports, the former Paris Saint-Germain, Bolton Wanderers and Fenerbahce superstar was the centre of attraction at the Onikan Stadium.

Okocha’s former Super Eagles teammates and other African footballers led by former Arsenal and Manchester City forward, Emmanuel Adebayor, and ex-Blackstars captain Asamoah Gyang, were present to honour the former Super Eagles skipper.

The entertaining match which was dominated by a show of skills from the ex-footballers, Okocha’s Dynamo emerged winners against Nigeria’s Dribblers following a 13-goal thriller.

The game ended 8-5 in favour of the Dynamo, with Jay Jay, his son, Joseph Yobo, Adebayor and Mutiu Adepoju all on target.

The former Super Eagles playmaker was his usual self as he led his Dynamo side to an emphatic victory on the day.

After the match, the playmaker spoke exclusively to Pulse Sports where he thanked his friends for honouring him.

“I feel honoured, great,” he told Pulse Sports. “I can’t thank my friends enough for coming out to honour me.”

“I am really grateful,” the legend, who netted a fantastic goal in the novelty clash, added.
