Speaking after England's round of 16 victory over Senegal, Saka revealed his daily Christian routine which has helped him

Bukayo Saka, England's mercurial winger born to Nigerian parents has said that he has continued to read the Bible every night even while at the World Cup in Qatar since the presence of God helps him by giving him confidence.

Saka has never been shy about his Christian faith, and in the press conference after England knocked reigning African Champions Senegal out of the World Cup, he revealed that he does the daily ritual because it fends off anxiety and nervous feelings ahead of games, so it has become important for him to do it even while having his mind focused on the World Cup.

Devotion works for Saka

His devotion has clearly paid dividends in Qatar, as the Arsenal forward has already scored three goals for England at the 2022 World Cup, including the third goal against Senegal.

He joined Dennis Bergkamp (1998) and Thierry Henry (2006) as Arsenal players who have scored three goals in a single World Cup campaign and is also the first Arsenal player to score a knockout goal at a major tournament for England.

Saka will be hoping for more divine grace when England face their toughest test yet in Qatar against defending champions and tournament favourites France, who have never beaten the Three Lions at the World Cup.
