The duo from Mbarara City, Shaban Wasswa and Hakim Magombe, are expected to fortify the team's defensive line under the guidance of head coach Sadiq Ssempiji.

FUFA Big League outfit, Jinja North United has secured the services of centre-back Shaban Wasswa and left-back Hakim Magombe, from topflight club Mbarara City.

The club eyeing promotion this season, also confirmed to Pusle Sports Uganda that the two defenders inked one-year contracts with the Doves.

The duo from Mbarara City, Wasswa and Magombe, are expected to fortify the team's defensive line under the guidance of Head Coach Sadiq Ssempiji.

Ssempiji, who made the switch from Mbarara City to Jinja North United, seeks to replicate his success by steering his new club to the coveted Uganda Premier League promotion.

Wasswa boasts experience from his previous stints with clubs like Paidha Black Angels in the Uganda Premier League during the 2017/18 season, Mbarara City, and Synergy FC.

"It is the ambition that drove me to Jinja North,” he told Pulse Sports Uganda, adding; “Obviously, they explained to me that they will be pushing for promotion, and I am excited by that."

“I hold a special relationship with Coach Sadiq, and I am looking forward to working with him yet again."

Jinja North will geth their season underway against Booma FC at the Masindi Stadium on Thursday, September 21st.

Jinja North United has revamped their squad with the addition of Mutwalibu Mugolofa, Johnson Senyonga, Isaac Mukiibi and Bronson Nsubuga.

Huud Salim, Isaac Kizza, Michael Kimera, Lawrence Nduga, Etojo Amos, Outa Dickson, and Arop Desmond are the other notable signings by the club.
