The Benin City-based club is home to Peace Abbey, who is widely regarded as the most beautiful female footballer in the NWFL.
As part of the program, all participants underwent a series of comprehensive health screenings, including ECG tests, blood pressure checks, cholesterol assessments, and fasting blood sugar tests.
These screenings were designed with the goal of early detection of potential substrates for lethal cardiac arrhythmias, which can pose significant risks, including sudden cardiac arrest and even death on the field.
Moreover, in a proactive measure to equip participants with life-saving skills, CPR training sessions were conducted. This initiative aims to empower all involved with the knowledge and abilities to effectively respond in the event of a cardiac emergency, potentially saving lives.
The “Heartbeat of Soccer” initiative embodies a commitment to fostering stronger, healthier champions both on and off the field.
Through initiatives like these, the Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation and the Nigerian Women Football League continue to demonstrate their dedication to the well-being and success of athletes across Nigeria.
