Baraza slammed City Stars for opting to defend their early lead to get all three points at Bandari’s expense.
Bandari FC head coach John Baraza has appeared to suggest that Nairobi City Stars were lucky to get all three points as they lost 1-0 in an FKFPL encounter played at the Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday.
Robinson Asenwa’s strike was the difference as the Dockers missed out on a chance to close the gap on leaders Gor Mahia who lead the table on 28 points, five ahead of the Coast-based outfit.
Asenwa scored a brilliant goal, controlling Mohamed Bejaber’s cross inside the box before swiveling a low volley on the turn to beat keeper Joseph Ochuka.

FKFPL Nairobi City Stars coach Nicolas Muyoti hails defensive resurgence after victory over Bandari
The Simba Wa Nairobi have won four of their last league matches, which puts them in a good place to achieve their targets of securing a top-half finish.
Stars then decided to set up a low block and had keeper Edwin Mukolwe to thank for making a string of saves that prevented them from conceding an equaliser.
Speaking after the match, Baraza claimed City Stars did well to maintain their lead as they defended with determination to get all the three points.
“Sometimes football is like that, the result does not favor you,” Baraza told Pulse Sports.

FKFPL Robinson Asenwa, Edwin Mukolwe deliver victory for City Stars against Bandari
Mukolwe made a series of saves that prevented Bandari from restoring parity after going behind in the fourth minute courtesy of Robinson Asenwa.
“We were not able to get the victory and if you look, City Stars did not create numerous chances. All the kid (Robinson Asenwa) did was try his luck and it worked for him.
“They defended to the end and credit to them that they got all the three points. We need to get back to the drawing board in order to find out how we will manage to get all the three points.”
Baraza revealed he was pleased with the effort that his boys showed in a bid to win the match, saying they stuck to the plan but were unlucky.
