Julian Nagelsmann has ruled himself out of becoming Chelsea's next manager blowing the race for the Blues' next manager wide open
Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly ruled himself out of the running for the Chelsea job after talks with the blues appeared to cool in recent days.
The German manager had been the leading candidate for the job after Graham Potter was sacked, with many believing that the Englishman's dismissal was fast-tracked when Nagelsmann became available after leaving Bayern Munich.
Chelsea parted ways with Potter one week and two days after Nagelsmann was asked to leave Bayern Munich, but also had other candidates in mind, with Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique, also touted as targets.
Chelsea look to other targets as Nagelsmann deal breaks down
Despite the other talented managers on Chelsea's shortlist, Nagelsmann was always viewed as the favourite for the job, and his withdrawal will hurt the Blues.
Chelsea and Nagelsmann had been engaged in talks for several days now, but have still been unable to agree on crucial terms of the prospective job.
The German manager is believed to have become unavailable despite the rounds of talks and Chelsea will now have to look to other alternatives to fill the vacant position.
