Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that the club might have to change their model if they are to compete with Europe’s top clubs.
Liverpool are currently having a bad season by their standards after they failed to spend in the transfer market last summer.
Liverpool fall behind their rivals
The Reds' only major signing this season was Darwin Nunez, although they also signed some youngsters for the future.
But in the same market, their Premier League rivals spent heavily, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle all spending heavily in the market.
Chelsea, in particular, have spent over €400m on transfers since the season started. Meanwhile, Manchester United spent big money to bring in players like Casemiro and Antony.

Newcastle broke their club record fee to sign Alexander Isak while league leaders Arsenal brought in players like Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos in the summer.
Liverpool are now suffering the consequences of their failure to spend, with the Reds sitting behind all their title rivals aside from Chelsea.
Klopp promises changes
However, Klopp has hinted that Liverpool would now have to follow their rivals' model if they want to avoid a repeat of this season.

“I can't see investment from other clubs stopping in the future, and that means we have to do it as well,” Klopp said ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Chelsea.
Liverpool are already splashing the cash after they paid €42.00m to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV this month. The Reds have also been linked with a big-money move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham and Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes.
