Weah, who currently turns out for Lille in Ligue 1 and the USA national team, has reportedly been chosen to solve Juventus’ problems at right-back or right wing-back in a move that could further the 23-year-old’s career to greater heights.

The second son of the 1995 Ballon d’Or and FIFA Player of the Year could now be set to follow in his father’s footsteps by taking his trade to Italy’s Serie A where his father was a cult hero with the Rossoneri.

Timothy Weah has spent the last four seasons with Lille after graduating from Paris Saint-Germain’s academy and has quickly gained a reputation as one of the leading talents at right-back in Ligue 1 with a number of impressive performances.

The USA international played 29 times in Ligue 1 for Lille in the 2022/23 campaign, despite an injury at the start of the season, as he helped Les Dogues to a respectable fifth-place finish with strong performances at right back and left back.

His impressive form in Ligue 1 has attracted interest from Serie A giants Juventus, who are now on the verge of a  €12 million deal for the American full-back after reportedly agreeing to a deal with the player for a potential transfer.

All that is left is for Juventus to tie up details on Lille’s end, and the 23-year-old defender will be continuing his father’s legacy in Serie A with the Old Lady starting this summer.
