Goals by Usama Arafat and newly-appointed captain Julius Poloto in either half were enough for the Kasasiro Boys to dispatch the Kenyan Cup winners.

KCCA FC Head Coach Sergio Traguil has said that the club is still a work in progress despite overcoming Kenyan side Kakamega Homeboyz in an international friendly match on Friday at Lugogo.

Goals by Usama Arafat and newly-appointed captain Julius Poloto in either half were enough for the Kasasiro Boys to dispatch the Kenyan Cup winners.

Traguil was impressed with the result but believes that the team has a lot of work to do to reach the levels he expects of them.

“We scored two goals and didn’t concede any, so I believe we’re on the [right path] but We’re still far from what I want,” the coach remarked after the win.

“This was the first game played in front of our supporters, and I felt the team was a bit nervous and made some mistakes in the beginning. These are things that we need to work but it’s mentally more than tactical. I want more quality and goals.”

Undecided

The Portuguese used two lineups in the match, with the first starting the game before instituting a wholesale change in the second half.

The coach says that he is still looking for his first 11, six weeks into the job.

“That was not my first 11 because I’m still far from [deciding] my first team; the players are the ones who will draw the first eleven from what they show me,” he noted.

The coach unveiled the club’s new signing before confirming that striker Julius Poloto will be the new captain taking over from Benjamin Ochan, who left.
