The FKFPL side was travelling to Nairobi when the accident happened.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Kakamega Homeboyz have confirmed they are fine and have arrived in Nairobi after a minor accident on Tuesday in Limuru.

Abana Abeingo were travelling to Nairobi from Kakamega to honour a match-day twenty-four fixture against Kariobangi Sharks when their bus had an accident that involved two other vehicles.

Homeboyz team manager Boniface Imbenzi said the players suffered no injuries and are in top shape and ready for the match.

"The bus was damaged in the front and back after one car crashed into the behind and another in front. But we managed to continue with our journey after we were given consent by traffic officers," he said.

We are all safe at the camp, and the league tie with Sharks will go ahead as scheduled ."

Homeboyz  are scheduled to face Kariobangi Sharks on Tuesday, April 12, at Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi.

The Kakamega-based side is sitting 11th on the league table with 29 points from 23 matches played so far this season.

Kenyan roads are among Africa's most dangerous, killing thousands of people every year due to poorly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.

However, inadequate financial wherewithal means most teams cannot afford to pay for domestic flights because of a lack of adequate sponsors.
