The FWSL returned over the weeeknd and the Queens defeated Asubo Gafford Ladies 3-1 taking their points tally to 30 after 10 games.

For an in-form team, a break is the last thing one would think about because how you return is never certain.

Kampala Queens finished the first round of the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League top of the 10-team log after they gathered all the available 27 points.

After the first round, the league took a breather for two and a half months which was too much according to head coach Hamza Lutalo.

“The break was too long and we were so much eager to return to action,” Hamza Lutalo told Purlse Sports before adding.

"During the break, the emphasis was to have some friendly games to keep the players in shape.”

“Throughout the build-up games, the players continued to show character just like it was in the first round of the season and that would show you that all they know is winning.”

“I am pleased that we started the second round with a win and given our position the more we win games the more we reduce the pressure on ourselves.”

Lutalo noted: “We do not want to get to a moment when we are under pressure to win the league so the earlier we collect the required points the better.”

They won all their three friendlies 3-2, 3-0, and 2-1 against St. Noa, Rines SS, and Wakiso Hill respectively.

The FWSL returned over the weeeknd and the Queens defeated Asubo Gafford Ladies 3-1 taking their points tally to 30 after 10 games.
