Soltilo Bright Stars FC pacy winger Ibrahim Kasinde received a late call from Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic ahead of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Algeria.
The fleet-footed player joined camp on Wednesday evening, just a day after his team got eliminated out of the Uganda Cup at the semi-finals by Vipers SC.
Kasinde, who last year featured for Uganda's U-20, is part of an over 40-man provisional squad that is gearing up for the June 15 match slated for Douala, Cameroon.
Well knowing that the competition at the senior team is immense, the youngster is willing to push himself to make the final cut, but also help the team's aspirations.
"There is a lot of competition in the senior team because of the talent here and the level of hardwork by everyone which is a good thing," conceded Kasinde in an interview with Pulse Sports Uganda.
"But, I am also more than ready to work hard, offer something different, and hopefully make the final team," he added.
"Now that the coach has trusted me with this call up, I can only repay him by working hard and help the team achieve the set targets."
Kasinde, who managed five assists and four goals in the Uganda Cup is up for competition against other proven wingers in Milton Karisa, Rogers Mato among others.

"It's already a pleasure that I am here, it's every player's dream. I worked so hard in the season to be here."
"Now it's work time. It's time to give everything but also learn from the experience," he added.
In his third season at the club, Kasinde played 22 league matches for Bright Stars, as the team made ninth in the league.
Uganda lies third in Group F with four points, joint with second-placed Tanzania.
Meanwhile, Algeria has already made the finals, slated for Ivory Coast as they boast 12 points. Niger rocks the bottom with just three points.
