FUFA Big League side Kataka FC have had a successful petition against Western Region side Gorilla Highlands while that of Arua Hill SC and Busoga United fell on the deaf ears of the FUFA Disciplinary Panel.
Kataka claimed that as Gorilla Highland beat them 2-0 in the Round of 64 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, they used Patrick Nduwayeza and Imurora Sotric, who were not licensed.
“Kataka have won a petition against Gorilla Highland for using ineligible players at the Round of 64 of the Uganda Cup match," partly read a FUFA statement on Friday.
"The FUFA CDP ruled that Gorilla Highland loses the match by forfeiture as Kataka progresses to the Round of 32."
Similarly, Arua Hill also petitioned FUFA that the Nothern Region side Elite used ineligible players Edward Ogwang and Abraham Opio.
The Leopards claim Ogwang and Opio belong to Tawai and Blacks Power respectively.
“FUFA competitions disciplinary panel has dismissed Arua Hill's petition against Elite that knocked them out of the Uganda Cup. Elite will continue with their journey in the competition for the Round of 32.”
Meanwhile, Busoga's submission of their bus breaking down on their way to visit the Northern Region side JLOS was binned.
“The disciplinary panel rejected Busoga United's submission for failure to honour the fixture on 3rd February 2023 in Kitgum. Busoga loses the match by forfeiture and fined UGX1M,” the statement noted.
Kataka will host Uganda Premier League table leaders KCCA in the Round of 32, Elite will visit Adjumani Town Council whilst JLOS will also be on the road against Calvary.
