The 2022/23 champions-elect wanted to finish the season unscathed, but Kawempe Muslim had none of it through midfielder Agnes Nabukenya.

Kampala Queens WFC's dream of lifting the FUFA Women's Super League unbeaten fell threw thin air after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Kawempe Muslim Ladies on Thursday.

The 2022/23 champions-elect wanted to finish the season unscathed, but Kawempe Muslim had none of it through midfielder Agnes Nabukenya.

The result at the latter's grounds made it five points dropped by Kampala Queens with only one game to round off the campaign.

This season, they have accumulated 15 wins, a draw and a single loss in the 17 games they've played, garnering 46 points at the summit.

The Moneybags have 14 more points than their nearest rival, Kawempe, who have 32 after 17 games.

On the other hand, the result extended Kawempe's excellent recent form, as they have now won five on the bounce.

Ironically, Kawempe dumped out Kampala Queens from the FUFA Women's Cup after trumping them 5-1 under a month back.

Kampala Queens will wrap up the season on Sunday with a home encounter against Lady Doves WFC at IUIU Kabojja Grounds.

On the same day, Kawempe will be away to strugglers She Corporate at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Nakawa.
