The Libyan side will host the first leg on Sunday, 17th September 2023, at the Olympic De Rades stadium in Tunisia with kickoff at 6 pm EAT, while the return leg will take place on 30th September at the St. Mary’s stadium Kitende with kickoff at 4 pm EAT.
KCCA FC on the Continent
The Kasasiro Boys are no strangers to the CAF interclub competitions, having made their CAF CC debut in 2017 when they became the first Ugandan club to reach the group stages.
Under Mike Hillary Mutebi, KCCA FC finished third with nine points, level with Morocco’s FUS Rabat, who advanced because of a better head-to-head.
Then KCCA FC won all their home games against FUS Rabat (2-1), Club Africain (2-1) and Rivers United (2-1).
In 2018, KCCA FC stormed the CAF Champions League group stages, famously defeating the club of the century Al Ahly 2-0 at Namboole Stadium.
The Lugogo-based side finished third in group A with six points with wins against Al Ahly and Township Rollers; their tightly contested 4-3 defeat away to Al Ahly is also worth noting.
Sergio Traguil’s charges would take a sabbatical from continental football until 2020 but were eliminated by AS Kigali in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round.
With Vipers eliminated from the CAF Champions League, KCCA FC will be expected to represent Uganda to the best of their abilities.
