Achai returns to the first team at the time both Mustafa Kizza and Brian Majwega have said their goodbyes to the club.

KCCA FC left-back Herbert Achai feels he is in a good place and ready to play competitive football again after a long layoff due to injury.

Achai missed the whole of last season following surgery on his knee but was part of the team’s first preseason training session held Sunday at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

“I’m ready, that’s the fact,” Achai revealed to KCCA FC media on Sunday.

“I came back last season at the end with like two months to go, so I have been checking myself.

“I checked myself in those two months, and the doctor also cleared me. I played some friendlies with the junior team, and I’m ready to go.”

Achai returns to the first team at the time both Mustafa Kizza and Brian Majwega have said their goodbyes to the club.

And by the time Achai got injured, he was one of the KCCA’s top performers.

With new manager Sergio Tragil conducting his first session on Sunday, Achai revealed the intensity that came with that and what the man in charge has told the team.

“The first five to 15 minutes were hard, with more intensity. Every exercise came with higher intensity.

“The coach has a good playing style. He likes building from the back and has already told us that.”

KCCA will start serious business between August 18 and 20 in the CAF Confederation Cup Preliminaries.
