Kayanja found playing time hard to come by under Morley Byekwaso and was loaned out to Maroons for the first round of last season.

Four players got to nine by Friday evening, as thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC confirmed parting ways with stars, many of whom, were hugely experienced.
Also, the Lugogo-based side is set to promote a couple of junior team players, with head coach Sergio Traguil aiming to have a mixture of senior and junior players.

FOOTBALL KCCA FC fall short in their bid to retain Allan Okello for next season
Okello, currently on the books of Algerian side Paradou FC on a four-year contract, returned to Lugogo in September 2022 on a season loan deal.
Former captain Benjamin Ochan, defender Geoffrey Wasswa, forward Brian Aheebwa, left-back Brian Majwegga, midfielder Denis Iguma, striker Brian Kayanja, and goalkeeper Mwirusi Ali joined Allan Okello and Mustapha Kizza in leaving the club.
KCCA FC is set to feature in the CAF Confederation Cup, hope to win their first league title since 2018 when the StarTimes Uganda Premier League gets underway on 15th September.
