When KCCA host Arua Hill on Friday, all focus will be on creating a six-point cushion between the table leaders and the chasing pack.
BUL, Vipers and Wakiso Giants all dropped points to leave KCCA with some breathing space at the top.
But in Arua Hill, Morley Byekwaso and his troops come up against a side that easily won the first round clash 3-1 and must be weary of the threat Livingstone Mbabazi and his charges possess.
“It’s not an easy game, we all know. We lost to them in Arua,” Byekwaso said ahead of the clash.
Since coming into the Uganda Premier League, Arua Hill have proved a hard nut to crack for the Kasasiro Boys.
They picked a point at Lugogo last season and followed that up with that win in the first round. KCCA won the first meeting between the two sides in Arua last season with Davis Kasirye’s lone strike handing them victory.
The Lugogo based outfit comes into the fixture on the back of progressing to the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 while the visitors were knocked out already.
KCCA top the log with 32 points from 15 games while Arua Hill are fifth on the table, on 23 points from 14 games.
Muhammad Shaban Tsisungu Kankonde will be expected to lead the line for KCCA while Allan Okello is the creative force in the team.
The return of Geoffrey Wasswa into the side will see him partner Mustafa Mujjuzi to take care of business at the back.
In players like Gaddafi Wahab and Rashid Toha, the Kongolo have some experience to count on in the capital.
Alongside Byekwaso doing media duties on Thursday was left back Mustafa Kizza. The returnee got to run on against Kataka in the Cup but admits he is not fully fit at the moment.
“I am at about 60% in terms of fitness but the manager knows when I am ready to play,” Kizza said.
Julius Poloto and Brian Aheebwa resumed full training on Wednesday and could be available for selection while defender Geofrey Wasswa is back into the squad after serving a Cup suspension.
