KCCA FC are through to the FUFA Super 8 Tournament semi-finals following a convinving 2-0 win over Wakiso Giants Friday evening at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

Striker Abubakar Mayanja scored a brace for the Kasasiro Boys to book their place in the last four.

In coach Sergio Traguil’s first competitive match, KCCA dominated possession and relied on a solid second half display to dispatch the Purple Sharks.

The first half of the game was a fairly balanced affair that had both sides tussling it out in midfield but with no serious action in the final third.

Julius Poloto and Faizal Wabyona were stretchered off injured before the break to force Traguil into early changes.

Arafat Usama’s cross was met by Poloto’s head and punched away by Bashir Ssekajja in the Wakiso goal.

Wakiso, who were the home team at Lugogo, had their goal disallowed for infringement in the box following George Kaddu’s long throw in.

After resumption, Mayanja took advantage of a miscommunication between Sekajja and his defenders to head in the opener off Harunah Lukwago’s cross.

The pint-sized striker would later exhibit his poacher instincts in nodding in the second to put the tie to bed.

KCCA will now face URA FC in the semi-final. The Tax Collectors defeated Bright Stars 2-1 to progress to the Final Four.
