Maroons FC who occupy 10th position on the log kick start their league second round campaign away to Busoga United FC on Thursday.

Maroons FC head coach Mohammed Ssenfuma has insisted that remaining playing in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League next season is the club’s main priority as they prepare for the league resumptions.

Ssenfuma revealed that their Stanbic Uganda Cup exit in the round of 64 against Kisugu United was a shocker but the team is now focused ahead of the second round.

“The cup loss was a bitter pill to swallow but we’ve used it to make more adjustments and the preparations have been great,” Ssenfuma said.

The coach also decried injuries that affected the team’s first round rhythm, crediting the capture of Abel Etrude and Brian Kayanja.

“We started well in the first round but got several injuries midway for close to seven games which affected our rhythm."

"Hopefully we have a smooth flow in the second round. Also, the additions of Abel Etrude and Brian Kayanja are key and will boost our team,” Ssenfuma noted.
