Iheanacho to join Sevilla
According to a report from Florian Plettenberg, Iheanacho reached a verbal agreement with the Andalusian club. The deal is close to being formalised, per the report, as he is scheduled for his arrival and medical on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Sevilla will be Iheanacho’s third club in European football.
He joined the Manchester City academy after his brilliant U-17 World Cup outing, in which he won the Golden Ball. He went on to score 21 goals in 64 games for the Cityzens, before joining the Foxes.
With Leicester, he scored 61 goals in 232 appearances. He is set to begin another phase of his career with Sevilla.
The deal comes after Sevilla reached an agreement with Turkish side Fenerbahce for the sale of Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
Iheanacho will be joining up with another Nigerian forward who also joined Sevilla on a free transfer this summer, Chidera Ejuke. The former Royal Antwerp winger has already taken to life in Seville. He was recently named Player of the Match in Sevilla’s pre-season friendly clash against Al-Ittihad.
