The highly-rated forward could soon link up with former team-mate Duke Abuya and Joash Onyango if Singida manage to lure him away from Kenya Police
Kenya Police striker Elvis Rupia could join compatriots Joash Onyango and Duke Abuya at Tanzanian side Singida Fountain Gate before the transfer window in the country shuts in two days’ time.
Singida are currently in talks with the striker over a possible move to Tanzania after a fruitful spell with Police since signing for the law enforcers from Saudi Arabian side Bisha FC in February 2022.
Rupia made history last season when he scored 27 goals in the Football Kenya Federation, breaking the record of 26 set by Gor Mahia legend Maurice ‘Sonyi’ Ochieng, which had stood since 1976.
“We are still talking, the transfer window in Tanzania closes in two days’ time and we hope to have a reached a deal by then. For now, I cannot divulge more,” Singida spokesman Hussesin Masanza told Pulse Sports.

Police might have perhaps been preparing for life after Rupia when they signed South Sudanese striker Tito Okello last week, the former Vipers and KCCA FC forward joining as a free agent after parting ways with Iranian topflight side Paykan FC at the end of last season.
Okello returned to Nairobi after a year, having played for Gor Mahia for two seasons from 2020-2022 when he scored 18 goals in 47 appearances.
