The Kenyan prospect was no-nonsense as he helped Bristol City to a priceless victory over Middlesbrough just a few days after getting dumped out of the FA Cup
Harambee Stars prospect Zak Vyner Onyego helped Bristol City put an end to their six-game winless streak in the English Championship with a 2-1 triumph against struggling Middlesbrough.
Onyego took a no-nonsense approach to his defending in the evening, making 10 clearances and two blocks, and also won his only attempted ground duel to help the Robins bounce back after a draining midweek exit from the FA Cup via penalties against Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest.
This win marked their first three-point haul since the Boxing Day victory over Watford and extended Boro's home struggles to just one win in seven games.
Jason Knight, who had previously scored in the cup loss at the City Ground, netted his second goal in as many weeks.

He capitalised on a well-timed pass from Rob Dickie, maneuvering past Tom Glover to open the scoring.
Shortly thereafter, Matty James seized the ball following a productive sequence involving Taylor Gardner-Hickman, slotting in a clever finish off the post.
Boro attempted a response through Finn Azaz who saw his quick attempt denied by Bristol City's goalkeeper Max O'Leary.

In stoppage time, substitute Sam Silvera managed to reduce the deficit by getting the final touch to Azaz's delivery.
