The Kenyan forward was a late substitute as Slavia Prague settled for a draw.

Harambee Starlets forward Marjolene Nekesa was handed a cameo in Slavia Prague’s barren draw against St. Polten in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Wednesday.

The former Minsk forward was relegated to the bench after starting in the 1-0 loss to Brann Women in their last Champions League clash.

Slavia Prague started the St. Polten game on the front foot and should have broken the deadlock inside three minutes when Tereza Krejčiříková tested the goalkeeper with Michaela Khýrová finding the side netting from the rebound.

It was all action for Slavia Prague in front of goal but finishing let them down again in the 23rd minute when Krejčiříková again had her curling effort tipped out for a corner.

St. Polten’s golden chance arrived in the 36th minute when Melanie Brunnthaler found herself with only the keeper to beat but her effort cannoned off the upright and saw her rebound blocked.

Four minutes after the break Brunnthaler again had a brilliant chance but from a tight angle as her tap in from a cross failed to find the target.

With few clear cut chances, Slavia manager Kiral Piták opted to throw in Nekesa with two minutes left on the clock as she replaced Karolina Křivská.

The limited time meant that Nekesa could not have any meaningful effect on the game as both Slavia and Polten picked up their first points in Group B.
