Richard Odada has joined Scottish Premiership side from Philadelphia Union on a long term deal.
At just 20 years old, Thomas has showcased exceptional talent and speed on the field, traits that Wigan Athletic hopes to capitalize on during the 2024/25 campaign.
His decision to move was heavily influenced by the keen interest shown by Wigan's First Team Manager, Shaun Maloney, and Sporting Director, Gregor Rioch, who have been monitoring the young player's development for over eighteen months.
"It's a very proud moment for me and my family. I can't wait to get started and meet the fans," Thomas told the club website.
"It was easy for me to come here knowing the Manager has wanted me for over 18 months. I want to do my best and show everyone what I am capable of."
Thomas began his football journey at Carshalton Athletic where he played for two seasons before catching the eye of scouts from Chelsea.
His potential flourished at Cobham, Chelsea’s training ground, where he played for both the U18s and U21s.
In addition to his club commitments, Thomas has represented England at both the U18 and U15 levels, demonstrating his versatility and skill across various age groups.
