Kenyans will have a chance to experience VAR for the first time in a match featuring the Kenya National Team, the Harambee Stars, against 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar.

The international friendly match will take place on Thursday, September 7, at the Al Janoub Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

The use of VAR in this match will provide an enhanced viewing experience for fans and allow Kenyan players and officials to familiarize themselves with the technology.

VAR technology has revolutionized football by providing accuracy and fairness in decision-making. It allows match officials to review critical incidents with video replays.

Qatari VAR official Mohammed Al Sherif will lead the VAR team, assisted by Ramzan Al Naimi.

Abdulrahman Al Jassim will be the center referee, with Taleb Salem as the First Assistant Referee, Saoud Ahmad as the Second Assistant Referee, and Yousef Al Sharshani as the fourth official.

With Kenyans experiencing this technology, Ugandans can be hopeful that it will come their way soon.

Additionally, it has been reported that the newly renovated Nakivubo Stadium will have goal line technology installed.
