David Beckham is reportedly ready to give Kevin De Bruyne a soft landing at his MLS franchise Inter Miami but the Man City legend may have to contend with a massive pay cut.
England legend David Beckham is reportedly weighing up the possibility to luring outgoing Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne to the MLS.
De Bruyne announced that he will be leaving City at the end of this season, bringing an end to a 10-year trophy-laden career at the Etihad Stadium, with the club keen to move on to younger targets.
It makes the Belgium midfielder one of the most exciting free agents that will be available in the summer but he could have a new club even before the season is out as Beckham is considering snapping him up for his star-studded MLS franchise Inter Miami.

Designated Players are those who are allowed to earn beyond the maximum salary limit in the MLS and Inter Miami have Messi as well as his former Barcelona team-mates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, meaning they would have to let one leave, an unlikely prospect, or sign De Bruyne within the league’s salary bracket before improving his contract later.
According to MLS data, Miami have $3.1 million remaining this season which De Bruyne would have to be signed within if he moves to the club within their current setup, which would mean a massive pay cut for a player who earns $26 million per year at the Premier League champions.

However, according to the Dailymail, Inter Miami will be looking for room to maneuver in the midseason transfer market in July where an opening could be found on the wage bill to sign the 33-year-old on a much bigger contract.
