Festus Chuma 18:11 - 13.05.2023

The other quarterfinal match will be played on Sunday with Kisped Queens taking on Ulinzi Starlets.

Division One side Kibera Soccer Ladies thrashed Kahawa Queens 7-0 at the Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday afternoon to cruise in the last four of the FKF Women Cup.

Kibera were just too good for the Army side with a brace from Jerusha Namale, a haul from Nancy Atako, and a goal from Winnie Gwatenda sealing yet another win on the road.

The Slum Girls dominated and took the lead in the second minute courtesy of Nancy Atako, who did well to get in a pass from the right before sending the ball into the back on an empty net.

Kibera then added three more goals in the first stanza. In the sixth minute, Winnie Gwatenda placed her name on the score sheet before Atako added the team's third on the quarter-hour mark before adding the fourth in the 25th minute of the match.

The Slum Girls then killed the game off in the second half through Jerusha, who was left completely unmarked in the 57th minute, and two minutes later, she scored another goal after her shot took a wicked deflection.

Aatako added another in the 64th minute, played in by Okwon, before slotting into an empty net for her fifth goal in two cup matches.

Royal Starlets 0-2 Kisumu All Starlets

FKF Women's Premier League side Kisumu All Starlets booked their place in the semifinals with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Royal Starlets at Ndura Sports Complex.

Faith Ogeda and Rosemary Oraro scored on either side of half-time to rescue All Starlets from the jaws of hard-fighting Royal Starlets.

The impact of playing two matches in the last seven days took its toll on the players, some of whom battled with muscle cramps.

All Starlets took advantage of Royal's fluidity when they went ahead early in the fifth minute after the hosts failed to clear their lines, and Ogeta easily slotted the ball into the back of the net to give the visitors a psychological boost as they exerted their authority.

Royal had a chance to find an equalizer in the 27th minute, but Jackline Ndunte's final delivery failed to find a sky-blue jersey as the hosts chased shadows.

Royal improved in the second half and pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but they failed to defend their lines, with Oraro making it 2-0 with four minutes remaining to the end of the match.

Thika Queens 0-2 Nakuru City Queens

Thika Queens welcomed Nakuru City Queens at Ruaraka, and the encounter lived up to expectations.

The visitors netted through Deborah Nakumicha in the 21st minute before the second half substitute Lennah Nasimiyu added the second in the 68th minute of the match.

The other quarterfinal match will be played on Sunday, where Kisped Queens will take on Ulinzi Starlets at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
