The defender believes the international break has come at the right time for Tusker.

Tusker have collected four points in their opening two matches, but Michael Kibwage believes the international break will help the charges achieve more perfection ahead of upcoming fixtures.

The Brewers vice-captain Michael Kibwage believes the upcoming international break will give the side time to bond and polish up on the mistakes that the club has made so far this season.

Tusker beat Bandari with 10 men in their opening match of the season, before being frustrated to a draw against Kariobangi Sharks in a match played at the Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday.

Kibwage believes that the team must capitalise on the next two weeks in order to recharge their batteries and then go for the kill, especially with the fixtures promising to congest over the next few weeks.

“The break will help us because as a team, we have very young players and we have newcomers who have come into the team. The break will help us bond more.

“We will keep staying fit, to train and prepare for the upcoming matches because there will be fixture congestion after the break, so we need to use this time to polish up the mistakes we saw from the game which will push us forward."

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old believes that although the side were frustrated to a draw by Kariobangi Sharks, they showed character and desire to fight back and force a draw.

“We came for maximum points but it did not go according to plan,” Kibwage said. “When they scored against us, it meant even more pressure for us,” he added.

“We had to look for two goals in order to be able to equalise, but we are happy with that one goal and we hope that goal will push us forward.

“I want to thank the players because they have shown great effort. It was a great fight because most of the time it is hard to come back from a goal down. The experience from the team has helped us bounce back and I welcome that fighting spirit.”

Tusker will face Kakamega Homeboyz away at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega in their third match of the season after the international break
