This result marks the Royals' maiden win over UPDF in the Uganda Premier League, further sweetening the triumph.

Kitara FC continued their impressive return to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over UPDF FC in a muddy encounter at Masindi Stadium.

The match, which was delayed by fifteen minutes due to heavy rainfall, saw the home side secure their second win in as many games since their return to the top flight.

The difference-maker in this closely contested battle was Kawagu Christopher's unfortunate first-half own goal, which handed Kitara FC a well-deserved victory.

The breakthrough came in the 39th minute when Kawagu, under pressure, inadvertently sent the ball into his own net from Solomon Okwalinga’s cross.

This result marks the Royals' maiden win over UPDF in the Uganda Premier League, further sweetening the triumph.

Kitara FC made their intentions clear from the outset, however, despite promising opportunities, both Brian Aheebwa and Denis Omedi failed to capitalize on these early chances.

The visitors, UPDF FC, had their moment to take the lead. Unfortunately for them, Zzinda Hussein's low strike was denied by the woodwork, before Kitara Captain Owachgiu Maxwell dauntlessly kept out Kaija Derrick's rebound.

The second half saw both teams pushing for goals. The best opportunity of the lot fell to Faridi Rashid whose effort rattled the post after a precise pass from Badru Nsimbe.

Omedi thought he had put the game to bed, but his goal was cancelled for offside.

Brian Ssenyondo’s second victory of the season sees them stay level with NEC and Vipers who have won both their opening games.

Kitara will return to action on Friday, 29th, when they travel to face Gaddafi FC at the Gaddafi Arena.

Meanwhile, UPDF FC will host Wakiso Giants at the Bombo Barracks Ground in what promises to be another exciting Uganda Premier League clash.
