"We are going to do everything within our means to avoid the past mistakes and make sure we return with all three points," he added.

Kitara FC's only home defeat in the Uganda Premier League came at the hands of Maroons FC, courtesy of Fred Amaku's sole strike.

The Royals visit the Prison Warders later today at Luzira with hopes of avoiding the first-round mishaps and agony.

"It's the only team that beat us in Masindi in the first round, but we won all the others," said Kitara's assistant head coach Issa Serwanja ahead of the contest.

"We are going to do everything within our means to avoid the past mistakes and make sure we return with all three points," he added.

Kitara lead the UPL proceedings with 39 points, one and two ahead of runners-up BUL FC and third-placed Vipers SC, who have played one and two games less, respectively.

Meanwhile, Maroons are on a torrid four-game winless run where they have suffered two losses and as many stalemates.

With 19 games played, Maroons sit sixth on the log as they have accumulated 30 points.
