Kitara was crowned Champion of the FUFA Big League and promoted back to the top flight alongside Mbarara City and NEC.

The newly-promoted Kitara FC has embarked on a project to ensure they have a qualified home before the 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League kicks off.

The Hoima side was crowned Champions of the FUFA Big League and promoted back to the topflight alongside Mbarara City and NEC.

The team has picked lessons from their one-season stay in the 2020/21 season and wants to do things early this time around.

Among the issues that dogged The Royals previously was a lack of a facility that met the minimum required standards.

“This is to remind you that after the team qualified for the Uganda Premier League, Kitara FC management has now embarked on its stadium construction in Butema Hoima District,” the club announced on Tuesday morning.

According to their estimates, the club needs about shs. 100 million to work on the first phase, which majorly comprises constructing a perimeter fence.

“The club has launched a campaign to raise 30,000 bricks, with each brick costing shs.3200 for the construction of the perimeter wall fence. Therefore, you are all encouraged to contribute to this cause to have the fence in place by June this year,” the message adds.

Kitara has been hosting its games from the Kigaaya Primary School grounds, about 10 km from Hoima City Centre.
