Ahimbisibwe will link up with former coach Brian Ssenyondo, who departed the army side to join Kitara at the end of his contract earlier this June.
UPDF Football Club laser-sharp marksman Ivan Ahimbisibwe is set to become Kitara Football Club's maiden signing since making their entry to the Uganda Premier League.
Ahimbisibwe will link up with former coach Brian Ssenyondo, who departed the army side to join Kitara at the end of his contract earlier this June.
The striker is currently a free agent following the expiry of his contract at UPDF, as he reportedly chose against renewing.
According to Sports Nation Uganda, Ahimbisibwe is in the final stages of negotiations to complete the move.
He has been an important figure at UPDF under Ssenyondo, featuring in 26 league matches out of the possible 28 last season.
Since joining the Bombo based side in 2021, he has scored 17 league goals in 50 matches.
Last season, he notched seven in the league and three in the Uganda Cup, an indication he can become prolific at Kitara.
Ahimbisibwe has previously featured for Western region side Nyamityobora Football Club.
